As we prepare to welcome our next Lead Pastor, we're seeking a Holy Spirit-led leader to guide our congregation into its next season of spiritual growth and community impact.
Our next pastor should be...
- A servant for Christ who has been called to
the ministry and is passionate about all of God’s children.
- A servant leader who, by the grace of God, will lead our church to the place that God has determined for us.
- Someone who fears God and listens to His guidance through prayer for himself, the saved, and the lost.
- An active and engaged witness within the community, spreading the Word, promoting missions, and meeting the lost wherever they may be.
- A teacher of God’s plan and a “champion” of congregational involvement in His holy plan whether through outreach, internal Bible study or a combination of approaches.
- Someone who is willing to admonish those of us who need admonishing with loving regard for our repentance and salvation.
- A supervisor who performs annual evaluations of associate and youth pastor(s), as applicable, and office staff.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Leadership & Teaching: Lead the planning and execution of weekly worship services. Preach biblically based, life-applicable sermons. Lead Bible studies, prayer meetings, and religious education programs to foster spiritual growth.
- Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance and counseling for individuals and families. This includes visiting the sick/grieving, hospitalized, and homebound members. Officiate at significant life events such as weddings, dedications, baptisms, communion (the Lord’s Supper), and funerals.
- Vision, Strategy & Operations: Work with church leadership (deacon board, church board, trustee board & various committees) to establish and communicate a clear mission and vision for the church’s future.
- Leadership Development: The Senior Pastor should take advantage of training opportunities and mentor church staff and volunteers by offering additional training opportunities.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- If not licensed in the Missionary Church, willingness to do so
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry/theology; seminary (Master’s/Doctorate) experience preferred
- Experience: 5-10 years of ministry experience in pastoral or leadership roles.
- Character: Demonstrated commitment to spiritual maturity, prayer, and biblical values.

- Sermon delivery, interpersonal relationships, evangelism, discipleship and biblical Interpretation
- Community involvement
- Communication: Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills to relate to a diverse/mature congregation.
- Conflict Resolution: Ability to manage internal church conflicts and seek reconciliation within the body.
- Strategic Planning: Proficiency in administration, goal setting, and organizational management to drive church growth.
